Abstract | With the growing interest in the role of businesses in regeneration, CEEDR carried a review of the evidence relating to business-led regeneration in deprived areas. The study examined the impact of conventional and social enterprises on deprived areas and examined the evidence relating to different types of policies which have had an influence on business development in deprived areas. Lessons were identified on effective ways to encourage and stimulate business development in regeneration programmes and gaps in the knowledge base examined. |
