Title | Designing for co-design: using the product envelope model as a framework for reflection. |
Authors | Bardill, A., Herd, K. and Karamanoglu, M. |
Abstract | This paper presents continuing work on the development of the Product Envelope model. In an effective MC product offering, the Customer/Product/Producer interactions that have been designed will subsequently provide the tangible product touch-points that a customer co-designer will experience through the product purchasing process. This paper explores the notion of the ‘customer corridor' as a device to plot the course of the co-designer through the product purchasing experience. It uses this as a device to link the brand, service, experience and product regions of the product envelope and, as such, this device exhibits the potential to be a key design tool in MC product development. |
