Abstract | Can technological advances be harnessed to provide insight into complex health problems such as self-harming? The increasing use of and access to smartphones suggests potential opportunities to take advantage of these technologies to find out more about why people self-harm and what support can be offered to protect those who engage in this behaviour. In this research, we aimed to develop and pilot a prototype system for collecting real-time data about self-harm from at-risk individuals. |
