Biography

Biography

Chris is the current Interim Head of Department and an Associate Professor of Strength and Conditioning, at the London Sport Institute. Chris completed both his MSc and PhD in Strength and Conditioning at Middlesex University in 2011-2012 and 2016-2020, respectively. From an academic standpoint, Chris has authored/co-authored 230+ peer-reviewed journal articles, 3 book chapters, and is currently co-editing 2 textbooks. Chris is also leading on multiple research projects in Golf and is part of the Scientific and Medical Advisory Team for the R&A (who jointly govern the sport of Golf) and the European Tour Group. From a practical standpoint, and prior to starting at Middlesex, Chris worked in professional football and the private sector where he headed up the performance side of the business for a large healthcare company. Chris is an accredited strength and conditioning coach with the UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) and was previously Chair of the Board for the UKSCA, which represents the leading professional body for strength and conditioning in the UK.
