Title | 'The relationship between big and small things': Tsaplya and Gluklya, Factory of Found Clothes: interview by Katy Deepwell |
Authors | Deepwell, K. |
Abstract | In this interview, Katy Deepwell speaks to the Russian art duo Tsaplya and Gluklya, who have been working together since 1995, about the ideas and approach in a wide range of their artistic projects including Memory to Poor Lisa, their Factory of Found Clothes Manifesto, The Greatest Idiot in New Zealand, the Shop of Utopian Clothing project and their early role in the Cyber-Femin-Club of St Petersburg as well as their work as part of the group Chto Delat. The duo combine an interest in precarious labour, the alignment of ballerinas and the unemployed, the remodelling of memories in second-hand clothes, and different forms of collective political-social therapy to address the problems of both late and rampant capitalism. |
