Abstract

In this interview, Katy Deepwell speaks to Ana Martinez-Collado, curator of the exhibition Cyberfem: Feminism on the Electronic Landscape at Espai d’art Contemporani de Castello (EACC) Spain, 20 October 2006-21 Jan 2007 and her own web projects. Ana Martinez-Collado discusses how "cyberfeminism" became seductive as a term for women artists working on the net to speak of the relations between art and activism. For her, this is not a reinvention of feminism but a new way to communicate, discuss and develop feminist concerns in terms of real and virtual realities. The interview discusses this in the light of works from the exhibition.
