Abstract

In her first major interview in English, Katy Deepwell talks to Kirsten Justesen (b.1943) about her work and the history of feminist art practices in Denmark including its relation to the Red Stockings movement, Magna Feminismus (1975) and her work in the Canon Club and Ladies Pictures/Damenbilleder (1970) and her film with Jytte Rex Sleeping Beauty. The interview also discusses her use of space and the body in her exhibition FAMA (Nikolai Contemporary Art Center, 1997).
