The missing culture: conference on women in the arts and media - Hammersmith Town Hall, 19 June

Report on this conference in London organized by the British Labour Party, the aim of which was to put on the public agenda the marginalization of women's activity in the arts. Although acknowledging the importance of the issues that came under debate, the authors regretted the lack of opportunity for discussion of many other vital concerns, concluding that the absence of men in the audience highlighted the problem of overcoming their indifference to the situation.
